3D Printing Finishes
Additium3D is not just a simple 3D manufacturing company, but our aim is to accompany the client from the beginning of the process with the materialisation of the idea and the 3D design, until the final finish. We are specialists in finishing because we are the first ones who like things to be perfect, and that is why we offer all our customers the following options:
Tinting
For Nylon 12 parts, the most affordable and suitable treatment is dyeing. The parts are immersed in a bath of hot water and dye of the desired colour, which penetrates the material. Available in black, dark blue and brown, and depending on the size of the order and the quantity of parts, Additium3D can include it in the printing price.
Smoothing
Often what most worries customers is that the surface of the prints is not smooth and perfect as in an injection moulded part, especially with FDM (layered finishing) and SLS (rough finishing) technologies. To solve these problems for our most demanding customers, at Additium3D we offer the possibility of smoothing the surfaces with "Vapor Smoothing" in the case of parts printed in SLS technology, and with Acetone treatment in the case of ABS parts printed in FDM technology.
Painted
Additium3D works with all types of painting, both for final pieces with simple or intermediate painting (spray, spray or roller) which our team takes care of, or in the case of highly complex figures by @mininot, who provides painting services at the highest level.
Metallised
One of the treatments that we like the most and that opens up more options in the world of 3D printing is the possibility of making electrolytic baths on the parts, and impregnating the surface of the parts with a thin metallic layer. Gold, bronze, copper, zinc... there are many possibilities to improve the surface, harden it and give it the right metallic touch for many situations.
Gluing, puttying and sanding:
Treatment of the print to fix imperfections, join parts from different prints to aim for larger final part sizes, and prepare the surface for future treatments such as painting, a service we also offer, but which the customer often prefers to do on their own if they have the means to do so.
