El objetivo era que el equipo de cirujanos que iban a intervenir, fueran capaces de estudiar la zona y para ello, despu\u00e9s de convertir un simple archivo .DICOM en un s\u00f3lido impreso, proporcionamos una copia a escala real de la cadera a operar.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>En esta ocasi\u00f3n fue\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/laribera.san.gva.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jose Ribes, m\u00e9dico del Hospital de la Ribera, situado en Alzira (Valencia)<\/a>, que ha sido la persona encargada de idear el proyecto en el que hemos acabado embarcados con \u00e9xito y orgullo, y que vamos a contaros a continuaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 nos demandaba el cliente?<\/h2>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 llego a nosotros con una idea de lo que quer\u00eda: usar la impresi\u00f3n 3D para crear un soporte que permitiera facilitar la vida a los pacientes a los que se les ha efectuado una di\u00e1lisis, evitando el contacto directo de los cat\u00e9teres con la piel. Para ello, ten\u00eda un boceto sobre lo que quer\u00eda, pero que era necesario plasmar como un Dise\u00f1o 3D y encontrar los objetivos que deb\u00eda cumplir:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proteger al paciente y cubrir los cat\u00e9teres.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptarse al cuerpo humano con facilidad.<\/li>\n<li>Ser f\u00e1cil de poner y quitar para que la labor de los enfermeros fuera sencilla.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bajo la idea inicial de Jose, y sus requisitos trabajamos para llevar al \u00e9xito este proyecto m\u00e9dico que tras su aprobaci\u00f3n ser\u00eda probado en 20 pacientes para su verificaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo afront\u00f3 Additium3D las demandas del cliente?<\/h2>\n<p>Cuando un cliente viene con un reto por delante, unos requisitos y una idea de como debe resolverse, nuestro equipo parte siempre de la idea inicial del cliente y adapta los requisitos al material que m\u00e1s se aproxime. Por ello, la hoja de ruta se estableci\u00f3 de la forma siguiente:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dise\u00f1o 3D a partir del Boceto de Jose<\/li>\n<li>Impresi\u00f3n 3D con Tecnolog\u00eda SLA y Resina 80 A de un prototipo el\u00e1stico<\/li>\n<li>Fase de pruebas<\/li>\n<li>Iteraci\u00f3n de mejoras.<\/li>\n<li>Dise\u00f1o final y fabricaci\u00f3n 3D de todas las unidades.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo cre\u00f3 el equipo de dise\u00f1o de Additium3D el modelo a imprimir?<\/h2>\n<p>Partiendo de la idea inicial de Jose, se realiz\u00f3 el primer Dise\u00f1o 3D, en el cual se optaba por un cierre muy simple, que tras las primeras pruebas se apreci\u00f3 como demasiado complicado de usar para los equipos de enfemer\u00eda. Por ello, nuestro equipo de ingenier\u00eda plante\u00f3 a Jose una serie de modificaciones.<\/p>\n<p>En la segunda iteraci\u00f3n, el objetivo era encontrar un encaje de cierre mucho m\u00e1s sencillo de poner y quitar. Las pruebas fueron satisfactorias en cierta medida en el cierre, pero segu\u00eda siendo un poco complicado quitar la funda del soporte. Por otro lado, se apreci\u00f3 que para el caso de que la di\u00e1lisis se sacara en el muslo, el dise\u00f1o era apropiado, pero para el caso de sacar por el pecho, era necesario un cambio de dise\u00f1o para facilitar su acople.<\/p>\n<p>En la \u00faltima ronda de modificaciones por parte de nuestro equipo de dise\u00f1o, se dise\u00f1o una pesta\u00f1a en una de las esquinas, para poder tirar de ella y quitar la funda con mucha facilidad, lo cual fue un \u00e9xito. Finalmente, se realiz\u00f3 una segunda versi\u00f3n del soporte, en el cual se le introduc\u00eda una curvatura en el dise\u00f1o, que permit\u00eda adaptarse f\u00e1cilmente al pecho. Con esto, se planific\u00f3 fabricar la mitad de las unidades planas, para probar en el muslo, y la otra mitad curvas, para probar en el pecho de los pacientes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo imprimi\u00f3 el equipo de fabricaci\u00f3n de Additium3D el modelo?<\/h2>\n<p>A petici\u00f3n de Jose, que hab\u00eda le\u00eddo al respecto, el material seleccionado en ocasi\u00f3n fue Resina 50 A de Formlabs, impresa con nuestro equipo de Tecnolog\u00eda SLA Form3. El problema visible desde el primer momento, es que con la elasticidad de este material, era muy dif\u00edcil hacer un encaje consistente y f\u00e1cil de poner y quitar.<\/p>\n<p>El orden l\u00f3gico para continuar con las pruebas nos marcaba que el siguiente paso era comprobar si con la Resina 80 A de Formlabs consegu\u00edamos el objetivo, y en cierta manera as\u00ed fue. El prototipo se montaba con relativa facilidad, se adaptaba genial al cuerpo, y serv\u00eda para su prop\u00f3sito.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>El problema es que a nivel productivo era muy costoso para hacer 20 ejemplares y a nivel de mano de obra, contando la dificultad que tiene retirar los soportes sin da\u00f1ar el objeto en este tipo de resinas parec\u00eda una opci\u00f3n no del todo aconsejable. Por otro lado, opci\u00f3n de hacerlo en FDM con alg\u00fan material flexible no parec\u00eda sensata si busc\u00e1bamos un producto limpio y que no le diera la sensaci\u00f3n al paciente de cutrez y le trasmitiera confianza.<\/p>\n<p>La clave del\u00a0<strong>\u00e9xito final del proyecto surgi\u00f3 en una charla con\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/solitium.es\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>nuestro Partner Tecnolog\u00edco Solitium<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>que nos invit\u00f3 a debatir con un delegado de\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/formlabs.com\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Formlabs<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0sobre las ventajas de su tecnolog\u00eda, y es que al poder ver su nuevo TPU Powder, impreso con Tecnolog\u00eda SLS en la Fuse 1 que nosotros utilizamos, ofrec\u00eda caracter\u00edsticas incre\u00edbles.<\/p>\n<p>Por un lado la elasticidad, la posibilidad de contacto con la piel y la versatilidad que conoc\u00edamos ya del TPU, usado previamente con\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/additium3d.com\/impresion-3d-fdm\/\">Tecnolog\u00eda FDM<\/a>. Por otro lado, la productividad, la precisi\u00f3n, el acabado y la ausencia de necesidad de poner soportes de la<a href=\"https:\/\/additium3d.com\/impresion-3d-sls\/\">\u00a0Tecnolog\u00eda SLS<\/a>. Una soluci\u00f3n que nos ha dejado impresionado y que hemos a\u00f1adido como una de las nuevas opciones a ofrecer a nuestros clientes.<\/p>\n<p>El resultado final es una pieza con un acabado perfecto, flexible y adaptable a la perfecci\u00f3n al anatom\u00eda humana; con certificaci\u00f3n para el contacto con la piel humana y con la facilidad de crear 20 kits completos en 2 impresiones tan solo. Las im\u00e1genes hablan por si solas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusi\u00f3n<\/h2>\n<p>La impresi\u00f3n 3D es parte de nuestras vidas cada vez en m\u00e1s \u00e1mbitos, y uno en los que m\u00e1s recorrido tiene es a la hora de ayudar a los equipos m\u00e9dicos a practicar operaciones quir\u00fargicas antes de realizarse en la realidad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additium3D como soluci\u00f3n integral de fabricaci\u00f3n 3D<\/strong>\u00a0tiene experiencia en diferentes proyectos relacionados con el<strong>\u00a0campo m\u00e9dico<\/strong>. Prueba de ello es el\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/additium3d.com\/blog\/modelaje-e-impresion-3d-de-cadera-dislocada-a-partir-de-resonancia-magnetica-para-operacion-quirurgica\/\">caso que acab\u00f3 con SUCCESS STORY The case in detail Power Electronics participated in Solar &amp; Storage Live London to present its latest innovations in energy storage. The 3D mock-up developed by Additium3D allowed visitors to explore Power Electronics' energy storage services up close. This success story highlights how a creative and technologically advanced strategy can boost a company's leadership and visibility at key industry events. There are numerous uses for 3D Printing technology in everyday life, but one of the ones that we at Additium3D take great satisfaction in is when our manufacturing capabilities allow us to collaborate on medical initiatives to contribute to the wellbeing of others. Recently we told you about our collaboration with the surgical team of the Hospital Universitario de La Fe in Valencia, in the operation to solve the hip dislocation suffered by a young patient. The objective was that the team of surgeons who were going to operate, were able to study the area and for this, after converting a simple .DICOM file into a printed solid, we provided a full-scale copy of the hip to be operated on.   On this occasion it was Jose Ribes, a doctor at the Hospital de la Ribera, located in Alzira (Valencia), who was the person in charge of devising the project on which we have successfully and proudly embarked, and which we are going to tell you about below. What did the client demand of us? Jos\u00e9 came to us with an idea of what he wanted: to use 3D printing to create a support that would make life easier for dialysis patients, avoiding direct contact between the catheters and the skin. To do this, he had a sketch of what he wanted, but it was necessary to translate it into a 3D Design and find the objectives it had to meet: Protect the patient and cover the catheters. Adapt to the human body with ease. To be easy to put on and take off so that the work of the nurses was easy. Based on Jose's initial idea and his requirements, we worked to make this medical project a success, which after approval would be tested on 20 patients for verification. How did Additium3D deal with the client's demands? When a client comes with a challenge, requirements and an idea of how it should be solved, our team always starts from the client's initial idea and adapts the requirements to the material that comes closest. Therefore, the roadmap was established as follows: 3D design from Jose's sketch 3D printing with SLA Technology and Resin 80 A of an elastic prototype Testing phase Iteration of improvements. Final design and 3D manufacture of all the units. How did the Additium3D design team create the model to be printed? Starting from Jose's initial idea, the first 3D design was carried out, in which a very simple fastener was chosen, which after the first tests was considered too complicated to use for the nursing teams. Therefore, our engineering team proposed a series of modifications to Jose. In the second iteration, the goal was to find a closure socket that was much easier to put on and take off. The tests were successful to some extent in the closure, but it was still a bit tricky to remove the holster from the holder. On the other hand, it was found that in the case of dialysis removal at the thigh, the design was appropriate, but in the case of removal at the chest, a design change was needed to make it easier to attach. In the last round of modifications by our design team, a tab was designed on one of the corners, so that the cover could be pulled off very easily, which was a success. Finally, a second version of the holder was made, in which a curvature was introduced in the design, which allowed it to adapt easily to the chest. With this, it was planned to manufacture half of the units flat, to test on the thigh, and the other half curved, to test on the patient's chest. How did the Additium3D manufacturing team print the model? At the request of Jose, who had read about it, the material selected on the occasion was Formlabs Resin 50 A, printed with our SLA Form3 Technology equipment. The visible problem from the outset was that with the elasticity of this material, it was very difficult to make a consistent fit that was easy to put on and take off. The logical order for further testing was that the next step was to see if Formlabs Resin 80 A would do the job, and to a certain extent it did. The prototype was relatively easy to assemble, fit the body very well, and served its purpose.
