FDM materials
ABS GF
Glass-filled ABS for high-performance engineering parts
The ABS GF is a glass-fibre-reinforced ABS what offers greater rigidity, dimensional stability and mechanical strength. At Additium3D we use it to manufacture functional parts and industrial components using FDM 3D printing.

Stiffness, stability and strength for high-performance technical parts
What is ABS GF?
ABS GF is a ABS-based engineering thermoplastic to which is added fibreglass to improve its mechanical properties.
Thanks to this reinforcement, the pieces feature a greater rigidity, lower deformation and better dimensional stability than conventional ABS, becoming an excellent alternative for industrial applications where mechanical loads are moderate and the working temperature does not exceed approximately 80 ºC.
Manufactured using FDM technology, it enables the production of strong, cost-effective and customised parts without the need for moulds.
LET'S TALK
Main properties of ABS GF
High rigidity
The addition of fibreglass significantly increases the rigidity of the material compared to standard ABS.
Excellent dimensional stability
Reduces warping during printing and better maintains the final dimensions of the part.
Good mechanical resistance
It withstands the mechanical stresses typical of industrial and technical applications.
Good thermal behaviour
It works properly in indoor applications with temperatures below 80 ºC.
Good value for money
It makes it possible to manufacture technical parts with better performance than conventional ABS without resorting to higher-cost materials.
Ideal for functional parts
Perfect for end-use components, functional prototypes and industrial tooling.

Technical information about ABS GF: characteristics and applications
What applications is ABS GF used for?
ABS GF is especially suitable for manufacturing technical parts where greater rigidity and dimensional stability are required without breaking the budget.
It is commonly used to manufacture:
- Industrial tooling
- Technical support
- Functional cases
- Mechanical components
- Machinery parts
- Manufacturing templates
- Fastening elements
- Functional prototypes
- Short series
- Interior end pieces
Its balance of performance and cost makes it one of the most interesting FDM materials for industrial manufacturing.
Why do we use ABS GF at Additium3D?
At Additium3D we work with ABS GF because it enables the production of strong and stable technical parts while keeping costs very competitive.
Its main advantages are:
- Greater rigidity than conventional ABS.
- Excellent dimensional stability.
- Good mechanical strength.
- Good thermal performance.
- Very good value for money.
- Ideal for functional industrial-use parts.
ABS GF and FDM technology
The combination of ABS GF and FDM technology allows large technical parts to be manufactured quickly and economically.
Among its main advantages are:
- Mould-free manufacturing.
- Fast production.
- Freedom of design.
- Full customisation.
- Reduced costs for short runs.
- Capability to manufacture large-volume parts.
Thanks to these features, ABS GF is an excellent choice for companies that need functional components without resorting to more expensive traditional processes.
When to choose ABS GF?
ABS GF is the best option when you are looking for:
- Greater rigidity.
- Good dimensional stability.
- Technical components.
- Functional parts.
- Economic output.
- Industrial tooling.
- Robust prototypes.
- Short series.
If the project requires prolonged outdoor exposure or high UV resistance, it may be more advisable to use materials such as ASA CF. If the priority is withstanding high mechanical stress or temperatures above 80 ºC, PAHT CF can offer better performance.
